This month’s installment brought the musical stylings of Honey Soundsystem’s DJ Pee Play & local icon Victor Rodriguez. In addition to the men from our normal gogo-stable, we had some fresh meat of the ginger variety audition for a spot on the Raunch team. Given the way he managed to shake it, he’s a keeper.

Halloween weeknend started off with a bang, or several bangs rather at the Well & Aaron Castle’s joint A Night of Halloween. With party-goers needing to call into a get the address for the parking lot, to then be told where the warehouse was located upon their arrival, I felt a strong nostalgia for the nineties in the best possible sense. Several acclaimed DJs along with surprise guests including Lvis1990 provided the jams for the hipster polysexual elite. The costumes were interesting, the tunes were dirty, and the cops came; definitely a success.

Pop Tart‘s owner and legend in the making Phyliss Navidad curates a splendid evening by inviting her mother , hence the name, to come play some music amongst the company of LA mainstay DJ Trident and fellow family member Victor Rodriguez. Given the line-up mentioned, you should already be getting gussied up to get down. Expect some photo presence, so look sharp – you don’t want to disappoint Mother.

Friday’s Fuzzy was especially adorable due to a certain special performer and hostess. Namely Raja, fresh off RuPaul’s Drag Race, and the one and only Dirty Diana, respectively. I took the weekend off of photo duties, so the boys handled the business while I got to actually hang out, sometimes that does happen. The show has barely shown what Sutan is capable of as his drag alter ego, and she put it on full display here. Aside from bitch being pretty, she’s also quite genius. I highly advise catching a live show if possible, it’s something not to be missed.

A year has come and gone since the birth of Critter Control’s Cub Scout, and in that time it’s quickly become an east-side institution. Though I wasn’t there for the first one, I’ve managed to attend most of the monthly dates, and it became one of my favorite parties in 2010. The lovable Lady Bear hosted as per usual, and Sleazy McQueen provided the guest DJ set.
