105/ LA PRIDE // LA MAYOR’S GARDEN RECEPTION

For the first time in LA PRIDE history, we were able to have a reception at the Los Angeles Mayor’s residence. This momentous occasion was only compounded by the presence of even more honorees than the prior event at the London. Antonio Villaraigosa, as well as the grand marshals, the Osbourne ladies, were on hand to speak about their dedication to the LGBT movement.
The garden party was lovely, and given that we were able to have this event on the Getty residence grounds really showed the support that Villaraigosa and his team have shown for our cause. Ran into a few friends, and was able to catch up and build on the excitement of the impending Pride celebration this weekend. Thank you again to Chad Hudson events for a wonderful event.

100/ LA PRIDE // WEHO MAYOR’S RECEPTION

With Pride around the corner in various cities, I feel very lucky and honored that we’ve been selected to cover a few events leading up to LA Pride, including the festival and Parade itself. Just a reminder, but the festivities occur this weekend – hoping to see you ALL there!
Last Wednesday marked the West Hollywood Mayor’s reception on the roof of the London Hotel. The hotel in itself is breathtaking and the view provided a fitting background to the heartwarming reception that was to be had. The team at Christopher Street West did an excellent job of creating an inviting event so that individuals from all facets of the community could relax and fraternize over their sense of camaraderie for our movement, while still acknowledging how much more still has to be done.
Though the event provided a great opportunity for people to meet and socialize, the amazing speakers, including Momma and the Mayor, John Heilman, himself reminded us once again what we were fighting for. With various honorees, government appointees, and LGBT activists on hand, one could only be instilled with Pride. If this is how we are welcomed to the celebration, things can only be more profound in the events to come. Thank you to all involved
