89/ BOOTY CALL

Upon arriving in SF I grabbed some food at Miss Saigon with Allen, then headed over to Q Bar for my first of two consecutive bookings at Booty Call – the next one’s tomorrow. I was elated to be there with Juanita MORE and Joshua J along with a bevy of other bay area friends. Though I kept my trip into the city a bit of secret, I still managed to run into about half the people I know there within 2 hours. It seems to always happen that way. Guest DJ Chelsea Starr was adorable, and turned out an amazing set. The only disappointing aspect of the evening, was that it was my first time at Booty Call – I finally realize all the fun I’ve been missing.
I also managed to run into the Cafe for a few minutes to catch up with my RuPaul’s Drag Race queens, Ongina, JujuBee, Raven, & Tyra. It’s always great to catch up, and I’m also very happy and proud of their success. Love you all.
Thanks for the love SF, cannot wait to be in you again.

52/ SATURDAY NIGHT OUT WITH THE QUEENS

Given that I had Easter off I decided to go BIG on Saturday night. After work I took a little time off to recharge my batteries then headed over to The Inevitable Unveiling at ASTO Museum of Art. The venue was a touch difficult to find, but after realizing I should be paying attention to the building numbers I lucked out and arrived at the gallery. I walked in just as the festivities commenced, thankfully. The launch itself focused on performance art and short film. Bobby did a fictitious monologue based on a gay vampire coping with being an idealist with his own minority. It was comical and in good taste. This was followed by some variation of kitty cat burlesque. The dancers themselves played it safe, but made use of their camp element in an entertaining manner.
