This party at Grand Star Jazz Club had so much awesome stuff to offer! Not only was Juanita More hitting the decks hard, it was also the release of a favorite gay quarterly ‘zine JIMMY! Editor and Chief Jimmy Vogel played the part of the proud, but humble papa. Phylis Navidad was the beautiful hostess of the night. Another fabulous face soaking up the maternity was the ever-glamorous Gregory Alexander. My personal favorite was the serve, serve, serving being
done by DJ Trident! All in all it was one sexy Mother!

230/ FULL FRONTAL

2010_09_25 >>
As could have been inferred from my previous entry, Full Frontal ringleader Mario Diaz (@mariodiaz) was up north for the weekend. Glad I wasn’t the only one missing our monthly last Saturday date with disco. From the looks of it, the party continued it’s rapid pace, and Martin killed it with regard to capturing the moment.

Given a booking issue at the Grand Star Jazz Club, Full Frontal Disco was held one Saturday early this month. This coincidence was a happy one, because of this change we were able to celebrate disco vixen Cassie Carpenter’s birthday appropriately. In typical fashion, she was the best dressed lady of the evening, though it goes without saying that she sets the bar pretty high. In addition to the birthday antics, a special edition of Sir Ryan Heffington’s dance class was held at 1AM, so technically it was a really early edition of Sweaty Sundays.

97/ FULL FRONTAL HERCULES

While RB may have been present at the recent Mario Diaz Presents events, I sadly have been MIA. That is until last weekend’s Full Frontal Disco, and both Cassie Carpenter and I were happy about my return. Though some of our regulars were out of town, most notably in Palm Springs and New York, we still managed to turn it out for the people. So much so in fact, that once again we were able to have both floors packed to the max.

69/ FULL FRONTAL

When else do you hear disco music echoing through the streets of Chinatown? On the last Saturday of April, the Grand Star Jazz Club was packed early with a hip, eastside crowd joined by the hot westside boys that like to play downtown. The gentlemen of Sweaty Sundays treated guests to two outdoor performances as well. Wearing some rugged, Brokeback Mountain-inspired outfits, the first group gave their folksy, modern performance to America’s A Horse With No Name, with Full Frontal Disco’s Mario Diaz joining in as well. The second was a glamorous and fierce number led by Maurice Harris. Maurice’s enchanting yellow fan was a most appropriate accessory for a night out in Chinatown.
