585/ FULL FRONTAL DISCO

It was another packed night for Full Frontal Disco at Akbar on Saturday night. Mr. Diaz always knows how to make sure everyone is having a good time and is thoroughly entertained. A midnight performance kept the crowds spirits high, and partying hard until last call.

The air was sweet with sweat at Akbar’s Full Frontal Disco this month. DJ Nelstar and DJs Slash Fiction spun spicy tracks which got the eclectic crowd grooving. It was a peacocking of the eastside’s finest set among mirror balls and rainbow beacons of light. With Jimmy the Zine giving away neon treats and “The Lady Boys of Sweaty Sunday” swinging their hips the night gave way to handsome hedonism and disco decadence.

Svelte hipsters, ageless glamour girls, and eastside cubs alike were packed in tight at Akbar for July’s Full Frontal Disco. Mario Diaz held court as FFD’s resident muses took turns posing their nearly-nude bodies on nearby platforms. At midnight, guests were treated a special performance by choreographer Maurice Harris and his pack of wild dancers, the highlight of a steamy Saturday night out in Silverlake.

The rain couldn’t keep all the people away from Akbar. It was packed with both glamorous and casual east-siders alike celebrating the 2-year anniversary of Full Frontal Disco. With Mario Diaz running the show, the crowd was soaked in sweat and glitter by the end of the night. Lots of FFD favorites like Ryan Heffington were there to join in on the festivities.

360/ FULL FRONTAL AKBAR

After a winter hibernation-like hiatus, Mario Diaz brought Full Frontal Disco back with some retooling. Though the seventies sentiment is still the same, and as seemingly as strong as ever given the overwhelming turnout, there has been a change in venue and an addition to the DJ roster.
Moving the party to one of the holy trinity of east-side gay bars, Akbar, made the Disco more accessible and the retooling of the main-room so the lovely ladies could dance on large speakers brought a welcome vintage rock and roll feeling to the room. The other aforementioned change was expanded role of Nelson Stitt to include resident DJ, splitting time with the boys of Slash Fiction.
Glad to have FFD back; we’re always down for a Mario Diaz party.

Full Frontal, Halloween, and Fade-dra. I’m not sure I can come up with anything to really describe what happened – so I won’t and will just leave you the visuals.

230/ FULL FRONTAL

As could have been inferred from my previous entry, Full Frontal ringleader Mario Diaz (@mariodiaz) was up north for the weekend. Glad I wasn’t the only one missing our monthly last Saturday date with disco. From the looks of it, the party continued it’s rapid pace, and Martin killed it with regard to capturing the moment.
