One by one they came up and told the jolly tranny what they wanted for Christmas, while drinking heavily and partying it up. Its like childhood all over again. No better way to start the holidays.

From door to dance floor, lined with a slew of topless wildlife uncontrollably rump-shaking to the disco and house tunes spewing from Chris Bowen, DJ Nark, Victor Rodriguez, and Jeremy. I drank plenty of whiskey with Phyliss Navidad and bent over backwards to photograph Lady Bear, but I didn’t see any birthday spankings for the man of the hour Mr. Rodriguez. It’s that time of the month again, when Lady Bear descends upon the southland and terrorizes the patrons of the Eagle with unique and delightful sensibilities. With the closure of the San Francisco branch, she now has more aggression to take out and booze to drink at ours; and it shows. Chris Bowen kept the tunes spinning proper, though I was sad to not see Victor Rodriguez at his side. I’m just assuming that he was somewhere else fabulous, and with that thought I’m pacified.
An evening with Mrs. Bear is always a good time.

The Eagle was packed as usual for Chris Bowen and Victor Rodriguez’s monthly party Cub Scout. The warm weather meant a new record was set for amount of chest hair on display. Former Andy Warhol muse Holly Woodlawn held court as the subject of an “impromptu” silent film by artist and Critter Control friend Niko Solorio. DJ Ken Vulsion of Honey Soundsystem fame joined in on the festivities, taking turns with Chris and Victor in the DJ Booth. Lady Bear and Phyliss Navidad provided some much needed beauty to the ruff and fuzzy crowd.
