Brutus was as usual and charming affair in quaint silver lake—-haha hardly. Chris Bowen played house hits with Brutus Special Presentations playing a menagarie of curious and disturbing video clips [thats how we like it!] on the brick wall behind the living Tom of Finland model who slowlyyy removed his long-johns over and over all night. Fade-Dra took to the pole to debut her Poison Ivy meets Oscar the Grouch look and the handsomes took to the floor. Diaz’ support group showed their unshockable faces in support of Mario’s monthly Faultline event. Another notch in the belt for Brutus.

Last Saturday marked the 1st year anniversary of BRUTUS by Mario Diaz and Chris Bowen. Drunken sailors, loose ambitions, and groping hands filled the night. The Sea Hag was played by Fade-Dra Phey and spinning was Jefferson Hendrick was an excellent deck hand.

Bears, cubs, and otters, oh my! Two years and going strong! Sunday proved that summer is in full force with the anniversary afternoon lot party and beer bust of “Bears In Space” at Akbar. Guest DJ’s Bus Station John, Mike Trombley, and Scott Zacharias kept the afternoon blazin, with resident DJ’s Nitedog and Chris Bowen taking things into the night. No anniversary is complete without performances by Jackie Hell, Phyliss Navidad, Rahab, Honey Bee, and of course, Miss Barbie-Q. This is hands down the best way to spend a Sunday summer afternoon.

With a line around the block all night, it’s safe to say that the Faultline was packed on it’s grand re-opening. Occurring on the evening typically reserved for butt pirate party Brutus, many a furred man were happy to be drinking in their usual blackout bar. Mario Diaz, Chris Bowen, and company more than kept the crowd entertained with several special presentations and an live action Brutus burlesque. Though I have to stay, I miss the ‘stache stripper who doesn’t like their photo taken, it really does frame your face perfectly.
