After attending the Carrera Escape (@CarreraEscape) event at the Chateau last Saturday, I made my way down the strip to the Roxy for the first Saturday On the Rox. The venue is reminiscent of an artists lounge, just big enough to house a hundred of your closest friends, and conveniently sits about the Roxy. Ana Calderon (@anasays) curated, with IShowMyself & Cisco Adler providing guest sets. Thnx for the fun.

Last night I raced from set to catch Rogue Wave at the El Rey Theater. I’ve been a fan of theirs for years, and the song Eyes especially tugs on my heart strings. The set was crazy amazing and I felt like I was in college all over again, in the good and sober way. In between being a fan and geeking out I got hang out with Daisy, who drove in straight from LAX after a NYC / Canada trip. She DJ’ed with Ana in between sets. The highlight was their encore rendition of my favorite Depeche Mode song, Shake the Disease – I’ll be honest, I melted a little. While many seem to be sick of the word Coachella, as can be evidenced by the twitter updates of yesterday – I’ve still got to provide my recap of Friday thru Sunday. My days were spent at the Music Lounge @ the Indioa2i2. The house was amazing, and the musical talent, both performing and just coming through to hang out was top notch. Two words: Andy Rourke.
The Diesel brunch on Saturday definitely brought out some A-list talent as well. Little Boots DJ’ed while Rosario Dawson and Penn Badgley came by for a drink and a munch. Shoshana Bush also came by on a few days and she was a delight, just thought it should be mentioned – very sweet girl. & while I can continue to talk about the party, I could just provide evidence, check below.
