644/ PUSHING THE ILLUSION

2012_04_26
The opening for Jose A. Guzman Colon’s Pushing The Illusion at Pop Tart Gallery was quite the scene, with many east-side notables giving face + serving fashion. Also great to meet SF’s Accidental Bear Mike + stunning sibling male models the Godfres, Benjamin + Michael.

608/ ODD LAUNCH

2012_02_19
Sunday night marked the east coast launch of the online retail store ODD. at Southside. Judson Harmon, Bobby Webster, Sophia Lamar, and Rhyan Hamilton brought severeness to the evening’s festivities. DJs
Greg.K (MisShapes) and Spencer Product (Ruff Club) treated the crowd to ridiculous sounds. High points were the Whitney sing alongs that went down whenever her bangers blared (RIP, WH). Dark and fashionable was the name of the game. Pop Rocks and rock candy at table service were a tasty touch, too. Get the looks: http://odd-style.com/

603/ VANDAM

2012_02_12
Vandamn. NYC weekly Vandam at Greenhouse (the “organically conscious” club) provided ridiculously good visual interest Sunday night. Maybe the grass on this coast is greener, but my first assignment in the
City got me especially hype. So thankful for JUANITA MORE, my fellow West Coast transplant; her delicious beats had the children entranced until the wee wee hours. Fashion Week spillover, familiar faces, and
gyrating B’East Coast bodies made this packed throwback of a festa one to remember. Oh yeah, weenie and dogs came out, too. SERVE GOTHAM, SERRRVE!

570/ HONEY PIE

2011_11_23
Pre-holiday cheer and booze filled the air at Akbar for the 3rd annual installment of Chris Bowen’s PIE. With special guests from HNY SNDSYSTM Pee Play + Josh Cheon, the house shook until we were forced to go back to our families.
The queens served up some actual deserts, and all was well with the world for one more night.

566/ RAUNCH

2011_11_18
This month’s installment brought the musical stylings of Honey Soundsystem’s DJ Pee Play & local icon Victor Rodriguez. In addition to the men from our normal gogo-stable, we had some fresh meat of the ginger variety audition for a spot on the Raunch team. Given the way he managed to shake it, he’s a keeper.
Thank you to Ian O’Phelan for having hot friends who are willing to strip at the drop of a hat.
