146/ FRESH MEAT

While I was with the trannies, on a similar side of town, Martin was with many half naked men, well, more like three quarters naked in factuality – that’s the way George (@GeorgeJaramillo) likes them. Martin did a great job of capturing the ‘action’ at MJ’s (@mjsbar), excellence below.

145/ TRANNYSHACK LA

The tranny train pulled into town from SF last weekend, and as would be expected the shenanigans ensued. ‘Circus’ would be an adequate word to describe the series of events from past Friday evening. Heklina and the other ladies from the bay joined forces with Cody Bayne (@codybayne) and a few familiar LA performers to put on a show that can only be rivaled by few.
The highlight of the evening was legend Kembra Pfahler’s performance – after seeing her I can now fully understand why so many performers look to her referentially for influence. It was also good to see the fun, friendly faces like Lina Lecaro (@L_in_A), Mario Diaz (@mariodiaz), & Nacho Nava (@mustachemondays), amongst others.
In addition to the onstage entertainment, World of Wonder’s (@worldofwonder) drunk Damiana was on hand to conduct some interesting interviews. The full Daily Freakshow episode will likely be up shortly, but you can view images from the night right now. Check below.

144/ RIM JOB

I took the night off last Tuesday for some R&R, and Aaron handled shooting duties – he did a great job as per usual. And while I’m glad I got to rest, I’m a little sad I missed Travis (@travisjamesxxx) & Chip.

143/ BEAR BIRTHDAY

Sunday marked the anniversary of the furry hipster shenanigans, more commonly known as Bears in Space. To commemorate the event, Akbar closed off the parking lot and turned it into a full out beer bust, only problem being the lines to get said beer.
Lady Bear, who seems to be spending more time down here than in her native SF as of late, turned out a beer guzzling performance leaving the audience thirsty for more. Also on hand, was hot tranny mess Christine, and I mean that in the literal sense, not the Christian Siriano way. I haven’t seen her since Austin for SXSW, and let me tell you, it’s been way too long. She turned out two original jaw droppers, but managed to keep her business in her pants, unlike what I’m told she did at Fubar a few days prior. Chris & Nite Dog pumped out the jams, and I danced, and stayed a little bit longer than I had planned – the sign of a truly good party
I look forward to another year of drunken furries. Thnx for the memories.

142/ SATURDAYS ON THE ROX

After attending the Carrera Escape (@CarreraEscape) event at the Chateau last Saturday, I made my way down the strip to the Roxy for the first Saturday On the Rox. The venue is reminiscent of an artists lounge, just big enough to house a hundred of your closest friends, and conveniently sits about the Roxy. Ana Calderon (@anasays) curated, with IShowMyself & Cisco Adler providing guest sets. Thnx for the fun.

141/ FRESH MEAT

While I was driving back and forth Aaron handled duties over at MJ’s for George Jaramillo’s (@GeorgeJaramillo) Fresh Meat Fridays. From the looks of it, I missed a good time – babes galore, plus Ongina (@ongina) and Pollo Del Mar (@TheGlamazonPDM). Also, a big thank you to the glamazon for including an image in her SF Bay Times article. Great job Aaaron!
Also, Cody Bayne (@codybayne) was there in his quest to dominate our site – good luck.

140/ TRUCK STOP

After the drive down from the valley down to LA proper was accomplished, I headed straight over to the Faultline for Truck Stop. I was rather excited to see Wendy Ho perform, as it’s been some time since I’ve seen her outrageous antics on stage. After the monlogue about shitty sheets in Fire Island and a cover of the Golden Girls theme the traditional big dick contest was held – and while the winner was a babe, I’m curious as to whom the too shy for stage ginger was. Hmmm. The crowd was eclectic, and the place was packed – it was an amazing end to a Friday night.

139/ THE FOOL

While Cassidy Haley‘s (@cassidyhaley) record The Fool was released earlier this week, the party and video premiere were held last Friday evening at Lobo Castle deep in the valley, otherwise known as Agoura Hills. The estate was like something out of a Disney movie, including a mer-man in the pool – a perfect background in which the sunshine rebels could play. The costumes and characters in attendance were visually arresting, and a perfect companion to Cassidy’s music. The evening was wrapped up by a burlesque striptease and a surprise performance by his roomie, the one and only Miss Barbie-Q (@MissBarbieQLA). Expect this burgenoing popstar to explode all over the nation shortly.

138/ RIM JOB

MJ’s Tuesday: Black Lights, Day Glo paint, nearly naked men, & Hillary Clinton on Dylan’s chest – that’s more then enough to keep me happy.
