65/ PS RE_TREAT

Last night, after visiting the Stagecoach grounds I went over to meet Zachary Sire and a few adult stars, including Chris Porter, for a drink at Hunter’s Lounge.  Thnx Zach!  The bar is only second in Palm Spring’s cheesiness to Tucan’s – I sincerely love both in all the worst ways.  The guys were here to shoot some scenes and needed a release from the day’s traveling / work.  Not sure how much I’m allowed to divulge, but I had fun – peep the pics.  Btw, Chris Porter – total babe.

64/ FRIDAY NIGHT FUN

Last night we had triple duty status. Our regular Friday night haunt MJ’s had a special “release” party for Steve Daigle’s latest porn endeavor with Ms. Chi Chi LaRue DJing. The party, like many events there, could be described as drunk and reckless with no abandon. I mean that as the sincerest of compliments. The adult entertainers came out of the woodwork for this one, and the always lovely Jason Sechrest was also in attendance – which would be expected since he is besties with Ms. La Rue. The night ended with Steve in his underwear dancing on stage, from what I understand this behavior is typical, and I for one am not complaining.

63/ BIG TOP B-DAY BASH

I had been excited about KCT’s birthday party for a while now, not only because she’s one rad individual but also the style she brings to performance and events is unmatched by many. Upon walking into the Alexandria I could immediately tell where the party was, the noise alone was a dead on indicator, easily overpowering that of the Down-N-Out. The circus theme was taken rather literally, as my sea of friends were decked out in warped circus costumes that seemed to have derived inspiration from the likes of Hunter S. Thompson & Warhol amongst others. The birthday girl was delightful as usual and the tutu dress she was wearing was coveted by all women in attendance. Gorbel’s didn’t stand a chance, as my friends took over the whole room, and I wouldn’t have expected anything less. Anyone who intended to come down for a simple drink was swarmed by the big top decadence, and from the looks and their faces they were loving it. BTW, Miss Barbie, pink definitely works for you.

61/ BLOK PARTY

Immediately upon arriving back in LA I had to make a drop off at the airport – bye Allen & Tim, after which I spent the following hours recharging for Mustache Mondays.  For me a recharge consists of sushi and a haircut with T.Yee, fyi.  Hadn’t been in a few weeks & I really needed my fix.  Aside from the distance making my heart grow fonder, it was also door whore Quentin’s birthday, and BLOK was performing to boot.  This, combined with special guest hosting duties to be performed by Raja made it the must attend destination for my night.
Jesse St. John and family, yes they’re all related, tore down the house, and I mean that quite literally. There was seriously some wallpaper missing from the stage post performance, no lie. Not going to point any fingers but I think the culprit was blond. Elephant also impressed with some bloody nosed backup dancers. Though the crowning achievement of the evening was likely when the birthday boy unwrapped his present, a lap dance. Thank you Mustache for solidifying my reasons for missing LA.

60/ COACHELLA AFTER-DARK

After staying in on Friday night, simply due to being plumb tuckered out I was itching to to get out and hit the town on Saturday. The first stop was at the Ace for Victor Rodriguez’s Children of the Sun Coachella After Party. I arrived too late to see my boys in Critter Control do their thing but managed to catch Steven Hawley mid-set. The music was mind-blowing and the carnival decor in the Amigo room really camped it up – the free vodka didn’t hurt things either. A bit after 1AM it was Tim Sweeney’s turn to turn it out. I had a blast with what seemed to be 1/2 of the Gay LA Eastside.

58/ THE MUSIC LOUNGE

While many seem to be sick of the word Coachella, as can be evidenced by the twitter updates of yesterday – I’ve still got to provide my recap of Friday thru Sunday. My days were spent at the Music Lounge @ the Indioa2i2. The house was amazing, and the musical talent, both performing and just coming through to hang out was top notch. Two words: Andy Rourke.
The Diesel brunch on Saturday definitely brought out some A-list talent as well. Little Boots DJ’ed while Rosario Dawson and Penn Badgley came by for a drink and a munch. Shoshana Bush also came by on a few days and she was a delight, just thought it should be mentioned – very sweet girl. & while I can continue to talk about the party, I could just provide evidence, check below.

57/ FILTER KICKOFF

About to leave to see LCD & Jay Z, yes I’m late but I’m staying across the street -and before I leave just wanted to post some photos from last night’s VIP Filter Magazine Kickoff party. This event has now become a tradition for many Coachella-goers & for good reason. While the DJ roster was impressive enough to have the likes of Jokers of the Scene & Them Jeans, the crowning achievement of the night was the surprise headlining set by Devo. Yes, DEVO! I arrived late – in seemingly typical fashion, but like many stayed past the original 1AM end time. When I arrived back at the casino, post-cab ride, I was greeted with hipsters tailgating in the parking lot – the official sign that Coachella has now begun.

56/ LOVE GRENADES

The evening before I hit the desert, when I was supposed to be packing, I opted to head over to Freak City to check out the Love Grenades showcase instead. Good choice! I’ve never been to the venue before 2:30 in the morning, and I have to say I’m surprised to see what it looks like clean. Liz the lead singer was on the Zooey Deschanel level of cute, and we all know how I love her, so you know I’m serious about the cute factor. The set was fun and everyone was dancing, in other words a good time was had. Please do check them out, you’ll be glad you did. Thnx to Adrian for getting me to go.
Later in the evening I also went to have a few drinks with Andrés, Matthew, and company. While that remains undocumented I just wanted to say I had a good time.
