60: COACHELLA AFTER-DARK
After staying in on Friday night, simply due to being plumb tuckered out I was itching to to get out and hit the town on Saturday. The first stop was at the Ace for Victor Rodriguez’s Children of the Sun Coachella After Party. I arrived too late to see my boys in Critter Control do their thing but managed to catch Steven Hawley mid-set. The music was mind-blowing and the carnival decor in the Amigo room really camped it up – the free vodka didn’t hurt things either. A bit after 1AM it was Tim Sweeney’s turn to turn it out. I had a blast with what seemed to be 1/2 of the Gay LA Eastside.

We stayed until about to 2, then went over to the tram pick for Jeremy Scott’s ADIDAS party. The theme was toga party and whether you arrived decked out in appropriate garb or not there were still fix-ins available to complete any look. The guest list was similar to that of the Diesel Brunch, just sprinkled with a few lovely additions like Beth Ditto. Also managed to catch up with Cody from SSION for a second, which is always nice. Debauchery seemed to be the theme of the evening as people trickled in from various other parties until around 4 in the morning.

The last party of the weekend was at Turbo’s Tavern on the Green for the Phoenix after party. The venue itself reminded me of somewhere we would have had winter formal and the people were majorly diverse. See for yourself below. At about midnight the venue become flooded with people, this also happened to coincide with the arrival of Paris Hilton – coincidence? Agness Deyn also managed to show her very lovely face along with a bevy of other model socialites – hope they hit it off with the hipsters. At bar closing many were scrambling for an afterparty, but I was more than ready to get home after the weekend I had. Thnx for the fun Coachella.
