55/ PRE-COACHELLA WEEKEND
Posted on April 15, 2010 by admin
To begin with please excuse the construction as I transfer over from blogger to wordpress. I don’t intend to create a mess, it’s just something that comes naturally to me.
The weekend before Coachella was jam-packed with events. It was good practice for what is likely to be a pleasantly overwhelming weekend. First off, after being on-set all day I stopped by Cody Bayne’s art opening at Skingraft. I’ve seen photographs of his work, typically on facebook, and to see the pieces in person proves that the photos due them no justice. I highly recommend stopping by before May 5th when the show comes down – do it!

Then Friday I had double duty once again. First I hit up MJ’s Fresh Meat Fridays where Josh Griffin was the evening’s host. To add to the typical shenanigans the promoters decided to have a Gold Digger contest – basically the “dancers” were encouraged to earn golden tickets from the patrons by whatever means necessary. I’m just going to leave the rest to the imagination.

Next I headed over to Paul V.’s newest creation with Matt Cornwall. Hunter and Jessica performed. I do believe that’s enough said to incite excitement. Their stage show ended with an insult contest in which everyone’s favorite bear cub Blake competed, though he was sadly defeated – it might have been the booze ingested. On top of the comedic entertainment the dancer eye candy was dressed in full footie uniforms & who wouldn’t enjoy that?

Saturday evening brought the Liars at the El Rey theater which was immediately followed by the launch of Duke at Fubar. Cody’s retooling of their previous Saturday night Redlight refined the filth with fresh musical selections resulting in welcome change. The new decor complimented the already existing brick walls, and after a few drinks all the people were staring at were the guys anyway. Despite competing with White Party this weekend the bar was packed as always & William and Karis did an excellent job of hosting this evening by bringing their own unique personalities to an already solidified venue. I’d also like to thank Alessio Romero for being a sweetheart and a babe – thnx.

I finally capped off the weekend with Bears in Space. & though it may have been raining, the weather did not keep the woodland creatures away no matter their size. Evidence of the creatures in their natural habit can be evidenced below. There really should be signage not to feed certain animals beer.

Also before I head out to the desert I’d like to leave you with the latest mix by Daisy O’Dell to get you in the festival mood. Highly recommended driving music btw.
