39/ RHONDA IN SPACE

Just landed a few hours ago in Austin, and before I engulf myself in endless amounts of green beer I wanted to recap the party trifecta of the past weekend. The order of events was as follows: Rhonda on Saturday, Bears in Space on Sunday, & Mustache Mondays on, well you know when.
The more one attends Rhonda, the more obvious it is that she truly ruins lives. Well at least the next Sunday morning, and hopes of doing anything productive later in the day. With a line up the stairs all night, El Cid was jam-packed by midnight – as would be expected. Tim Sweeney and Mike Simonetti kept the crowd entranced, as people kept fighting for space on the stage to shake it. & as always Gregory’s outfit was more than visually arresting. We kept the party going past the time change and until the sun came up, through several after party stops — gotta thank Dirty Dave for teaching me the art of the party slap.

38/ LITTE BOOTS

Last week I was lucky enough to shoot the Little Boots show at the El Rey, which had been preceded by the Big Pink the day prior – both shows wowed. Dragonette also opened the show and I was more than happy to see them as well – much love! Below are some photos of Ms. Boots, and both her performance and her appearances at La Boum at Bardot & Tigerheat at the Avalon. I must say, to see her live is to experience what pop music should sound like.

37/ MANIFESTING EQUALITY Y’ALL

Thanks to my dear friend Daisy O’Dell I was informed of, & was able to be involved with the Manifest Equality Project last week. The event took place in the empty lot on Vine that was previously a Big Lots, and the transformation from that into art gallery was nothing short of miraculous. I’m really appreciative that I was able to be a part of such an amazing event, and though the gallery may now be closed it’s purpose still lives on – more information can be found on their website. Thank you to all that attended. Continue Reading →

36/ LITTLE BOOTS TOMORROW

Well, being that it’s almost 2 I guess technically it’s tonight. Shooting her at the El Rey Theatre and delighted to be doing so.

35/ THE BIG PINK

btw, LA people should come out tomorrow for the Big Pink show at the El Rey Theater. Daisy will be doing a special guest DJ set – not to be missed.

34/ VALEN-TIME

While Valentine’s Day 2010 may have come and given, leaving many embellished memories the parties are indeed worth discussing. I spend 2 back to back nights at my bar away from home Fubar. Dance Bitch on Friday, and Red Light on Saturday. Check out the fun below:
