09/ SHOUT OUT GBH

So my favorite showcase of the week was at Webster Hall for the GBH/AM ONLY showcase. I heard about the parties, and I was only too happy be shoot this event. Got to catch Shout Out Out Out Out this time around, whom I missed at SXSW. The show was fun, and it got the young folk dancing away.

08/ I LOST MYSELF IN BILLY DEE

To clarify, there was a light up sign of Billy Dee Williams holding up a Colt 45 at the Death+Taxes/Onituska Tiger party. Yes, it was genius. The event took place at Glasslands, gotta love it when the venue doubles as someone’s living quarters. Real Estate and the Japandroids played, and someone drew a portrait of me. 07/ K9

Another night, another showcase. This time I went to the cake shop, they actually sell cake, promise. The Kanine Records showcase was down in the basement, and it was hot. I mean actually heat hot, bad decision to wear a sweater that night. Anyway, on with the show, Dinowalrus and Surfer Blood! were great and the crowd was very scenster chic. I could have run into many of these people wandering the bars of Echo Park.

06/ NEW YORK, BEIGE OUT

So, my first night in the city, I had a little too much fun, or A LOT rather. I lost my phone, but thankfully not my camera. The first spot of the night was at the CMJ Spectre party. The establishment was Cheers reminiscent, but the people didn’t know my name.
I have to say, I’m a sucker for any bar with a pinball machine, repeat: ANY BAR.
